OPEN and Saint-Gobain Group officially signed a strategic co-operation agreement

On 25th April 2025, OPEN and Saint-Gobain signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai. With the core of ‘global technology empowering local practice’, the cooperation will promote the construction industry towards high efficiency and high quality through the integration of resources and technological innovation of the whole industrial chain.

Deepening Co-operation

OPEN is actively exploring in the field of architectural and structural innovation, and this cooperation with Saint-Gobain Group is an important strategic layout. At the signing ceremony, Chen Ming, President of Open Group, and Sheng Zhaoning, CEO of Saint-Gobain China, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Aijun Bao, Executive Vice President of Open Group, Xiaojing Yang, General Manager of Steel Structure Operation Centre, and Tairong Jin, Vice President of Saint-Gobain China, were present to witness the signing ceremony.

Mutual Trust and Win-Win

Looking back on the course of cooperation, both parties have gradually built up a partnership of mutual trust and win-win cooperation, starting with the technological attack. in December 2023, Saint-Gobain launched the first technological docking with OPEN with its globally leading Isover thermal insulation system, and the innovative application of high-performance materials paved the way for the subsequent cooperation. in October 2024, the thermal insulation foam of OPEN encountered a technological bottleneck in the practical application of the project, and Saint-Gobain quickly responded to the technological bottleneck. Saint-Gobain responded quickly, set up a special team, and held several meetings with the OPEN team. Through three-dimensional simulation analysis, material performance measurement and construction process optimisation, Saint-Gobain finally found the source of the problem and solved the technical difficulties, which further deepened the mutual trust between the two sides.

Field visit

In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the strategic cooperation agreement, the two sides will establish a long-term communication mechanism to communicate with each other in a timely manner in terms of business strategy, market development, new products, new processes, new materials, new technologies and other major matters. In the future, the two parties will deeply integrate OPEN's local practice advantages and Saint-Gobain's global resources to build a ‘design - construction - operation and maintenance’ full-cycle performance improvement system, explore new modes of integration between assembly buildings and renewable energy, and lead the green and low-carbon development of the construction industry.
