High-Temperature Construction Safety Tips
2024-08-30 15:44In the past week, many parts of the country have
entered a scorching heatwave, where every day feels like you're being
steamed, boiled, or fried—it's simply unbearable…
While many people
seek refuge from the heat with air conditioning, construction workers
still need to work under the blazing sun. So, how can you protect
yourself in such harsh working conditions? Xue Tian Education kindly
reminds you: When working outdoors during the summer, it is crucial to
take precautions against heatstroke!
Emergency Measures for Heatstroke:
1. For early signs of heatstroke or mild symptoms:
Immediately leave the high-temperature environment and rest in a cool, quiet, and well-ventilated area.
Loosen your clothing and drink cool beverages (lightly salted water or strong tea).
2. For severe cases or those with high fever, immediate first aid is required:
a. Rapidly cool the person down by placing them in a cool, well-ventilated area and loosening their clothing.
b. Place ice packs on the person's head, underarms, and groin area.
c. Use ice water, cold water, or alcohol to wipe down or spray the body. The goal is to reduce the body temperature to around 38°C (100.4°F) and prevent it from rising again.
d. Massage the limbs to prevent blood from pooling.
3. For heat cramps:
In addition to the above treatments, have the person drink beverages containing salt. If possible, administer an intravenous drip of 500-1000ml of saline.
4. For severe cases:
Use any available means to quickly transport the person to a hospital for medical treatment.
